Documentation
We have been continuously engaged in drawing and photographic documentation of environments of varied nature: people, objects and mostly architecture in India since 1980. What we saw and experienced in terms of the "Roots" of the Indian ethos in the Vernacular, the Colonial and the Modern architecture posed an irresistible enigma that resulted in a drive for research, documentation, and publication. We have a collection of approximately 20,000 transparencies and negatives. Photographic and drawing documentation is treated as inspirational as well as source material for creative work and exhibitions. We have used this documentation extensively as a support material in our teaching careers. Our built environment photo documentation consists of parts of Kerala, Gujarat, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Northern and Western India, Nepal, and Bhutan in South Asia.
